Old golfers tend to come back and play in this event, right? Most make it two rounds before their aching backs, rickety knees, and swollen feet land them below the cut line. Tiger's "mistake" was making the cut, which he should be happy about at his age. He played two good rounds, two more than I have ever played.
The winners are invited back every year. Although many will bow out once they are simply unable to get around the course without embarrassing themselves. Augusta is extremely hilly and one of the most difficult setups.
Fred Couples was the oldest at 64 this year. He also said he's planning on playing next year.
Bernhard Langer is a few years older and was planning on playing his final Masters until an injury sidelined him.
Like him or not - Tiger is arguably still the biggest draw in golf.

My point is that the prize money likely isn't even on his radar.
Yep, this reminds me of the people on Reddit where I learned the term "hatewatching". People watch a show they absolutely hate, just so they can go online and bish about it. It's toxic af.
Who the heck 'hatewatches' a show? I know if it's a show I don't care about(i.e. reality crap like Survivor), then I won't watch that show and turn to something else. I have no need to waste time and hatewatch it, like some foolish people want to do, lol.

People who enjoy discussing a show. The discussion being worth the hour.

I'll "hateread" sometimes, you know for op. ed. research purposes in debate. Can't say I ever "hatewatch" a show. There a few shows my wife and kids like that I despise, and I will just pick up a book or get on the computer, or whatever until it is over. Sometimes I will stick my head up and catch a piece of stilted dialog or cringy social messaging, shake my head, then go back to the book.
