There are lots of places (both chain chicken franchises and independent shops) in the US where you can get fried chicken. But if you ask for "chips", you are likely to get either a blank look or a bag of potato chips instead of french fries. Common side dishes to go with chicken include cole slaw, potato salad, mashed potatoes macaroni and cheese, andred beans & rice. Plus usually a biscuit (closer to what a scone is in the UK).

When are you planning to do this?

If you are planning an extended stay here in the US, and have the budget to travel a lot ($200, or more, per day) you might want to explore the I-49 corridor. Hate to brag on somewhere else, but I think you will find more excitement in Fayetteville and points further North along that route, up to and including Kansas City.

Not sure where the Casinos are, as that isn't my cup of tea.

When you get further from the Interstate Highways, you don't see the excitement as much. Not that it isn't there, it just isn't as visible, and isn't every day. You would have to know when and where to find it.

If you don't have that kind of money, are you being sponsored, so that you will have a place to sleep over night? Where ever you go, the people there can tell you more about what to see at that location.

I love those waffle fries, but when an English woman asks for "Chips" she generally means fries.

May as well cool our engines, however.
She hasn't been on for at least three days.
She may have all the info she wanted.
