I was able to take Advanced Placement courses for college credit starting my junior year at West Florence High in Florence. This school was probably in the 4-6 range on school scores but the good students were able to get into good colleges and occupations. This includes out of state colleges like Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, UNC, and Wake Forest. It is fashionable for some people to beat up on SC schools but I never witnessed the public schools not working for a student who had the aptitude and put the work in.
Each high school is basically two schools in that I didn't know the names of about 50% of students who graduated with me. I could see schools doing away with advanced placement and "honors" courses at some point if there are schools cancelling homework.
Most colleges including Clemson and USC don't require SAT scores now.

The problem with telling “our secret” on an internet board is it won’t remain a secret.
But, more importantly, what may be a wonderful place to one person might not be the best fit for another. Visiting, not just tourist attractions, but the everyday things you will be doing is by far the best way to discover a community. Try to visit several times, especially in the hot/humid weather, and see what works for you.
Rock Hill, Fort Mill, Indian Land. If you prefer suburban Charlotte. Back in the day about 15 years, Indian Land was a best kept secret just past the upscale Ballantyne area of Charlotte. Now it is more crowded and congested. Perhaps other areas of
Lancaster County. Or what about Clover or Lake Wylie areas in York County?
You brought up Indian Land...I was curious on how an issue like the attached is gets addressed from a municipal services perspective. I cant imagine a Lancaster County, SC anything having to travel into NC ...navigate through a bunch of subdivision streets to get to these houses...I guess they have a some form of agreement with Char-Meck?
They have private services with the HOA. Mecklenburg doesn’t offer garbage services like how SC does when you’re in the unincorporated part. I street mapped your view and that neighborhood uses Republic Garbage company lol

I wonder about the Police? Do they come from SC into NC to go back into SC to service this area OR is there some arrangement with Char Meck?
My job has me driving all over SC. Some small towns that stand out:
Aiken
Walterboro
Lake City
Cheraw
York
and I’m partial to Travelers Rest and Greer.
