Just as one example I don't mind Chelsea playing Porto in European competition, it fails to have the traditional rivalry but it is 'new', its 'different' when you only play these teams occasionally - but it it were twice every year in a 'Superleague' how long would it be before playing Porto is akin to playing Swansea City? Only this time without the history and also the travelling distances being so much further and more difficult? I imagine there would be FAR less away support at these games (who would be able to afford to jet off to Europe or in to the UK every week) and the atmosphere will become sub-par. The same works the 'other' way too of course.
This 'Superleague' idea was doomed to fail right from the off.
This is the problem with American sports leagues too. US is big continent with teams spread everywhere. Usually our leagues are broken up by east, and West, with West coast teams needing travel further most of the time. And we have 4 or 5 big sports leagues (depending on who you ask). And we play a lot of games except for NFL. NFL only plays 8 regular home games.
So everyone has to pack into stadium. The others like Bball, Hockey, play 80 games. But I dont believe every game sells out. The bad teams usually dont have good crowds. Then there is baseball with its 160 games, and they play back to back games in the same place before moving on. I dont know how anyone can sit there watching games that have so many breaks like BBall and Baseball. Hockey actually is better live than on TV.
And America does have a second and third tier leagues for Baseball and Hockey. BBall has just one second tier league. And then there is the college sports.
I can see Mbappe in a Juventus kit. Him with Vlahovic. Juventus probably going to have to loan out Chiesa or Kean though. Or move one of them to the mid field, and let Pogba go.

I doubt they can afford his (no doubt) outrageous wage demands.
Not to put the cart before the horse, but it seems RM are on their way to another CL trophy. Why would they break up such a great team to bring in one player, even one as talented as Mbappe?
