Are Whirlpool Duet washers and dryers bad machines?

I called the company on something that I heard or read. They confirmed that the newer Duet washer could use regular soap, even though the He was still preferable.

I bought the Duet, in part, because I was phobic about bedbugs and mites for a time and found out what temperature killed the eggs in clothing. I called various companies, asking what the highest heating temp. was on their washers and the Duet had the highest. Their Sanitary cycle is really sanitary and will kill even certain eggs, though other machines will not.

bought my duet set in 2004 and had to replace the circuit board befor the warrenty was up.
now here i sit with out a dyer as it went again, can't afford to replace it. i live in ontario canada not a graet place to try a dry cloths out side in the winter.
will never buy whirlpool again

My Whirlpool Duet washer cleaned clothes well for seven years, then bearing on washer drum seized because lost lubrication. Repair costs almost as much as a new washer. Will never buy again. Too expensive for 7 year lifespan. My duet dryer needed a new motherboard after 6 years. I will go back to GE. Never had problems with those.

Hate my whirlpool duet! It is giving me error messages and only had it 4.5 years. My laundry floor is ruined because if the leakey door. The repair has to include fixing the floor too. It takes me 3.5 hours to do one load! Don't by a whirlpool duet!! Whirlpool's selection of service repair places isn't the best either. Been trying to get someone out here for two weeks and when I call whirlpool they are no help. Definitely switching brands just not sure where to go from here.

I have only had my Whirlpool Duet Model 9750WW02 for 3 years. For quite some time it has been making very loud noises on the spin cycle. Sounds like a jet taking off. Had the repairman in today and he told me the bearing are bad and it would cost more to repair than a new machine. I had my last top loading Maytag for 25+ years and a GE for 10 before that. Wish I would never had switched to a front loading machine. Seems like this is a chronic problem with these. Called Whirlpool and they too agreed that 3 years was too soon for a machine to fail, but only offered to sell me a new one for about 1/2 price. What good it that if the new machine fails in another 3 years. I've been reading reviews of defective bearings in the machines. Sure wish manufacturers would take responsibility for their defective products.

I have the original Whirlpool Duet dryer in my home and it is still going after 23 years…
