Go to the zoo. Walk around the Botanical Garden, Ride the little train at Breckenridge park across from the zoo. Maybe walk the River Walk. The Witte Museum or San Antonio Museum of Art, There is also the Doseum the children's museum.Go to San Pedro Park. If you don't mind the drive, go and walk around Landa Park in New Braunfels. There is a San Antonio Kids magazine you can pick up at HEB Grocerystores for free or at the library which has information on things for parents to do with children. There is Seaworld and Six Flags Fiesta Texas too.

The zoo is superb. They've put over $100 million into it over the last 5 years.

Doseum on Broadway for the kiddos, always fun.

I'm not a fan of the Witte. For all the money they're spending on building, the exhibits are still low-rent.

I agree with all suggestions, your kid's age is perfect for the Doseum, mine out grew it a couple years back.

Also try the LEGOLAND Discovery Center San Antonio at River center Mall. We had a fun time there last summer plus afterwards just make a Riverwalk visit out of it.

Regular activities, or visiting/ holiday / vacation?

Kids usually really like water sports / water parks.

Bike rides to to missions

Boat rides

Hands on animal activities.

Camp fires

Children's museum/ building blocks

My kids would be entertained for weeks with a bunch of big cardboard boxes (washer / dryer / frig / cabinets... They built cities
