I am interested if anyone has or had a Job at a major or local Telemarketing Service in Salt Lake City or Ogden.Also if anyone had good or bad experiences as a Telemarketing Operator.
Also if any former Telemarketing Operators ever experience prank or harassing phone calls when they were working on the Job.
Their are probably plenty of good stories by former Telemarketing Operators. Also if you had friends who were Telemarketing Operators they probably had good stories to tell you about their experiences as Operaters.

Do you have any specific questions about a job in particular?

Utah used to be the call center capital of the West so I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one here who worked at a call center while in High school & college.

I know there were Call Centers that that were nationwide and sold products or gave out free information and products. I know the Book of Mormon was one of the free products.
Also I am interested if anyone who had been employed by these Call Centers ever experienced Prank and harassing phone calls when they were Operaters.

There are call centres and there are call centres...
One kind I absolutely hate and those are the ones that call you out of the blue and try to sell you stuff.

Then there are the call centres when you need help with a product or service.
Those I appreciate and I realise those are mostly located in India or the Philipines.

I know that they have local ones because one of my in-laws works for one.
The company he works for sells specialised software and he is a service tech...

If you like to be on the phone (from home for instance), have you looked into any of these cases.
It does take a bit more savvy to work for some of those places but it might be more interesting?...

There are plenty of call centers in SLC. I think there are more in Phoenix however. I am a call center veteran. As far as prank calls if it is outbound there is usually not a way for the person to cb. The number are usually blocked or not designed to accept incoming calls. As for Inbound after asking the information required if the person does not respond directly or properly an intelligent operator will be able to tell it is a prank, and may seek assistance from floor manager, who will give approval for the operator to hang up. A problem could arise when an operator decides to hang up on his/her own and will have to convince quality assurance it was the correct thing to do.

I remember one telemarketing service in Ogden Utah and other sites that had the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints as a client that took request for the book of mormon,The Holy Bible and a Video.I don't know the name of the company.It was a national telemarketing company.It also had the Newyork Times as a client.Also several others

Has any local Telemarketing services in Ogden or salt lake City ever had local police come in to pose as operators because of prank or hang up callers to see if they can find who is doing it.
