I've got a ways to go before hitting 75 (will turn 59 in August) - but noticed that I have substantially less stamina now compared to even just five years ago:
In Summer of 2019, I took a 5-week tour around various cities in Europe (in the middle of a heatwave), which involved quite a bit of getting around on foot (including many stairs/hills in Rome) - I don't remember it being too much of a problem the entire time.
Fast-forward five years to now. I just spent last week in New York, which also involved much walking, but in nice cool weather, and air-conditioned museums/buildings; I found myself sitting down to rest fairly often.
So...I expect the energy levels will continue to decline as the years go by (which is why I'm getting as much travel in now, while I can).
I would like to hear stories of anyone over 65 that has had energy decrease. I guess I just assumed it didn't happen until later because I've never experienced it before.
I am "Highly Sensitive" so a lot of stuff affects me (the recent solar storms for example). I also believe we all pick up on the Collective Unconscious (all the unconscious stuff going on in the world).
I always seem to be recovering from something. I can't depend on my energy being consistent anymore.
Today, out-of-the-blue achey and tired. No good "reason" for it that I'm aware of. I could have stayed in bed but I force myself to get up, get dressed, and work on the "To Do" list. There's sooooooooooo much to do - and I think the overwhelm adds to fatigue.
I'm wondering how common this is - really no clue if my experience is "normal" or not.

I had a similar experience - went to NYC several times in 2019, and walked all over the city - one day was blistering hot and remember wanting to sit down but could not find a bench (I think that's a problem that they remove benches so homeless people can't sleep on them, but old people and those with disabilities also can't rest! You were lucky you found somewhere to sit!

I grew up in NYC and back then there were benches and water fountains all over the city.
I’m turning 70 soon and can tell the difference. Last year I went to Europe for 11 days. The tour company did a bad job booking my flights and I was up for 27 hours going each way. I got between 14-17k steps a day and when I got home I was beat and had to rest for 4 days.

Nowhere to sit, nowhere to get a drink of water or refill your bottle, and nowhere to use the bathroom.
Bring plenty of money for the restaurants!
