Wow, Reno is so beautful. If you didn't tell anyone they would think these photos where of a city outside of Denver.

Default couple of pics from Pyramid Lake and one of the Nugget

We thought the front of the nugget looked interesting.

We also visited Pyramid lake.. thought it was interesting that what appears to be gravel along the edges of the lake.. is almost entirely snail shells of various sizes and colors...

Thank you for sharing these wonderful pictures! We were unable to see much of Reno when my family and I visited in Jan of 2011. I didn't know Reno was such a beautiful city!

Today we hit Mt. Rose Summit. Starting point was 8900 Ft. Nice and cool. A little bit windy, but it felt great to me. We hiked to the waterfall and back, which took us about 2.5 hours with a little snack break in there.

I can't believe this is about 20 minutes from my house, just epic.

Next week we'll check out Carson City and then head up to Tahoe for another hike.

We decided to hike in South Lake Tahoe this Sunday. The drive from Reno was beautiful indeed, down to Carson and over the summit down to Tahoe. The first shot is from Mt. Tallac trail. We did about half of it and this picture was taken about an hour up.

We then went down to the visitor center, and did a quick walk down to the lake. All in all, a great day trip from Reno. I wish we had started earlier, we would have gotten a bite to eat and had some coffee after all our hiking. I did see my first coyote, which was cool.

South Tahoe this morning around 7. We went up to see if we could find bears eating Salmon and were not disappointed. It was very intimidating, but the bear was completely oblivious to us. Despite its demeanor, I was sure to keep a safe distance. You can see the Salmon in the water too.
