What a 3rd Period tonight at MSG.
They finally played loose. The veterans stepped up. Winning game 4 was nice... avoided the sweep. But this third period feels like it could become a true turning point.
Missed opportunities and a nightmare game from Andersen and the season is over. The Canes had four prime chances late to extend the lead to 4-1 or 5-1 and JUST missed... but additionally two of those goals Freddie let in just can't happen.
So the offseason begins. While most of the "top" guys are back, we have a lot of UFAs in the middle of the roster. Could be an opportunity at flexibility to bring in another high-level guy. And if Kochetkov isnt ready to take the next step next year, we may need to bring in a new Goalie. Freddie can be a backup... but he was a liability in throughout the playoffs.
