The best I can suggest is Kerrang Radio.

I listen to Sirius XM in the cars and also on the computer at work. They have three metal channels:

38 Ozzy's Boneyard
39 80's Hair Metal and Glam
40 Liquid Metal

As mentioned, internet radio is a savior for good tunes.
Here in Chicago we have not had a radio station that plays metal since the early 90s! And really none played death/black metal except for at times WVVX back in the day. Or College stations back then.

So, yep it seems thank goodness we have the internet, as only there can you find metal, especially the more extreme metal.
Mainstream radio never had the guts to play.

Its sad that there has never been a radio station that has ever played the more extreme metal ever.

Thankfully these days we have internet radio that does what actual radio stations never had the guts to do.

Has nothing to do with "guts", strictly economics. Advertising (ie-commercials) is what pays the bills for a radio station. Metal appeals to a very small segment of the audience, probably not enough of one to attract much in the way of advertising. No ads=no revenue=no station.

Back in the 80s when the Earth was cooling, the alternative rock station I listened to, WOXY-FM in Oxford, Ohio, had a Sunday night show called Massive Metal For The Masses. I'd listen to about 10 minutes of it, and I was done. LOL
Such a pretty town, with a great setting.

Miami University has one of the prettiest campuses I've had the pleasure of visiting.

One alum in my family....and she moved over 2,000 miles to go there.

There was an Ozzy channel back in the 2000s (don't remember if that was the name or not).

It helped with the boring, desolate, plain looking portions of driving all the way across Canada .
