I’ve tried to find an answer on the Charlotte County website but had no luck. I have a lot in a manufactured home community. We own the lot and it is empty except for a concrete driveway. Does Charlotte County require a permit to remove a concrete driveway? Thanks in advance.

not likely but they might want to know what you are replacing it with. Also if it is grandfathered in you might not be able to put that same slab back down later if the new slab needs to meet new codes. I have a brand new house (2023 built) and I'm installing a pool. The code for the pool deck shows a different setback than the existing walkway (1 ft difference). Its not going to derail the project but in that area its a 20% difference.

Just an FYI, concrete is a dusty mess to cut up/jack hammer. Its a cloudy white dust storm so whatever is nearby will be coated in it.

I think I'd wait until the new home has been placed into position on the lot before I tore it out.

Here's the county page on Driveways but if you're still unsure just call them or a local concrete company who would be familiar with local zoning law. https://www.charlottecountyfl.gov/de...-driveway.stml
