Eastland Shoes (online, China, leather, 2014)

I had some Eastland shoes (booties for walking) from back in 2014 or so. They lasted for several miles and the leather uppers always looked great. Unfortunately, they couldn't be re-soled because they were "all one piece." Shame. So I bought another pair (same color) a few years later. They haven't worn nearly as well and the uppers are always scuffed-looking and don't hold polish. Are shoes being made these days in Chiner or something? I see things online saying they're made in Maine.

According to the first page of their website, they brag that they are based in Freeport, Maine. That's a dead giveaway that the product is made overseas. Which country, exactly? Who knows. Could be China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Honduras, or Bulgaria.
