No idea. I lived in the South Hills and Shadyside from 1978 to 1983 and rarely ventured out to Monroeville to go to bars.

Default The Santuary Oakland, Pittsburgh

Hey Randy I remember you from the Santuary. I was a cocktail waitress there for a few summers around 1981 1982. This is Donna. I remember Nicky, Peppy, John the DJ, Bob the DJ, Carolyn the bartender. Good times.

In the 60's, it was called Monzos Motel. It was demolished and replaced with Howard Johnsons hotel, still owned by Monzo. He dropped the franchise later and turned into Al Monzos Palace Inn.


Casa di Monzo was the restaurant, which at night turned into "Monzos Nightclub". During the disco era, there was "The Ritz Disco".
