The city did a great job landscaping the ft pitt grant street parklett to ensure the homeless don't return. I wonder if the hotel across the street paid for it or did it on their own. I have never seen the city work that fast when confronted with an issue.

Well, they have a lot of work to go. There are drug addict encampments near the Rivers Casino, near the 9th street bridge/Heinz plant along the rail trail and all along the river trail from the Birmingham Bridge to the 10th Street Bridge in the Southside. Filthy garbage and human excrement making it dangerous for any tax paying citizen or tourist to use.

Well, it’s only April 2. Give it time.

I work on this block, and had no idea there was a homeless encampment there. Just got back from vacation this week.

Do you mean the grassy bit around the 376 ramp? Haven't walked that way in awhile, but there's usually some tents there. It's the "perfect" spot for the homeless, as it's neither private property nor city owned, as it's on "non-parceled" land that I guess is technically a public right of way.

The land faces the fort pitt commons building. It is between ft pitt and the on ramp to the parkway west.
