Don’t let it. While Pittsburgh is no different than anywhere and has its share of racists, etc., the behavior of the perpetually aggrieved posters here aren’t reflective of what you’d experience in real life. Those types only posses keyboard courage and would slink away without confrontation in the real world.

The city and area are still awesome. You can't beat the bang-for-your-buck factor up here. I am making less money than I did in NoVA but live larger up here.

There are a lot of very cool towns indeed. Sharpsburg, Millvale, Etna, Oakmont, Sewickely and the list goes on and on. Winters can be fun if you ski. That is a game changer.
