Here's a shot of a wooden cannon my grandfather made - not sure of when he made it, but I suspect it was around 1930, give or take a few. The plaque on the side reads: This material was taken from the original hull of the US Frigate Constitution - keel laid 1794 - rebuilding 1927.

Thanks for the suggestion - I hadn't thought about doing that.

I didn't know my grandfather. He died when I was a baby. But I have his hammer (and a few other tools), and I think about him whenever I use it.

My old 1926 Model T, it came with a dismantled 1919 model T.
