This is a TV Ontario video, shot in 2019, that follows the Rideau Canal from Manotick to the last locks located next to the Parliament buildings in Ottawa. The camera is on a 1956 Shepard Brothers 24 foot runabout, which is moving at a leisurely 15 miles an hour. The sound track has no music, just the natural sounds of the water birds, the deer, and black bear going for a swim. The boat travels through the locks and the camera drone covers the buildings and blockhouses built to defend the canal from possible American military invasion. The boat couple speak to the canal staff and other travelers they meet along the canal.
The video is beautiful, but it does run almost 4 hours, so I suggest that you set aside adequate time to watch it, perhaps in segments. OR if you are faced with a all day rain storm on a week end day...this could get you through the day. The rights to the video belong to TV Ontario.
