Good morning.

What unpopular opinion [non-political] do you have?
Restaurant food is not healthy. I avoid it as the plague. 99% of all restaurants' food is like that, no matter how good it tastes.

What place did you visit only once, but you’d love to go back?
A tiny village up in the mountains in my native country. During Christmas. It was wonderful. I don't remember the year but probably 1994 or 1995.

How klutzy are you, on a scale from 1 to 10?
(1 = I’m as graceful as a ballerina. 10 = I would trip over my own feet if they weren’t attached.)
A 3 or 4. Sometimes a 2.

Today is Europe Day. Have you ever lived in, or visited, Europe?
I was born there. Yes I visited and lived there legally as a resident in other European countries as well.

What is something you’d like to tell your younger self?
"God loves you, his child, as much as he loves Jesus."

Thanks Bay.

What unpopular opinion [non-political] do you have? That we're all headed for socialism - and it won't work out so well for the US. Glad I won't live far into the future. (But you asked! )

What place did you visit only once, but you’d love to go back? Bisbee, AZ.

How klutzy are you, on a scale from 1 to 10? 9. I have always been rather clumsy. That's how I broke my ankle last year.

Welcome to Questions of the Day for Sunday, May 5, 2024. Thank you for the questions.

Today’s Questions:
What unpopular opinion [non-political] do you have? That OJ Simpson was not guilty.

What place did you visit only once, but you’d love to go back? Muir Woods, for redwoods near San Fransisco and Mill Valley.

How klutzy are you, on a scale from 1 to 10?
(1 = I’m as graceful as a ballerina. 10 = I would trip over my own feet if they weren’t attached.) 65

Today is Europe Day. Have you ever lived in, or visited, Europe? Portugal, December 1995.

What is something you’d like to tell your younger self? That at 67 I would wind up where I am now, sitting in a comfortable, modest house, married just under 33 years.

Today in History:
1215 – Rebel barons renounce their allegiance to King John of England — part of a chain of events leading to the signing of the Magna Carta. Probably one of history's most significant events.
1862 – Cinco de Mayo: Troops led by Ignacio Zaragoza halt a French invasion in the Battle of Puebla in Mexico. Thanks for reminding me of what take-out I need to order.
1904 – Pitching against the Philadelphia Athletics at the Huntington Avenue Grounds, Cy Young of the Boston Americans throws the first perfect game in the modern era of baseball. I just wrote my senior law colleague about whether the Boston Americans morphed into the Boston Red Sox, the Boston Braves or neither? And whether the Huntington Avenue Grounds came Fenway?
1912 – The first issue of the Bolshevik newspaper Pravda is published. Wish that movement had been snuffed out.

Today’s Questions:
What unpopular opinion [non-political] do you have?
Where to start? Coke, not Pepsi. Chevy, not Ford. Wranglers, not Levis. I could go on.
What place did you visit only once, but you’d love to go back?
Mammoth, Kentucky.
How klutzy are you, on a scale from 1 to 10?
(1 = I’m as graceful as a ballerina. 10 = I would trip over my own feet if they weren’t attached.)
Hard to say. For instance, I tripped on one of those concrete bumper things in a parking lot the other day, but caught myself by doing a stupid looking run to catch myself from falling, a reflex reaction if you know what I mean. Within the hour I noticed an abrasion on my left wrist. Apparently I scraped it against a parked van and didn't notice until later. That's how sensitive I am.
Today is Europe Day. Have you ever lived in, or visited, Europe?
Been there a few times. Not sure I'd go back just because the older I get traveling seems more of a chore than an adventure.
What is something you’d like to tell your younger self?
Don't let the turkeys get you down!

Thanks, BA4!

Do you really want to get me started on my unpopular opinions? Peanut butter and chocolate should not touch. Gravy should not touch bread. Airplanes should have more leg room (oops, I think that's popular). Museums and aquariums should have a twice monthly adults only day.....the list goes on and on.

My graceful (#2) self has only been to Washington DC once, but it's worth a return trip.

I would tell my younger self to buy a non rural house sooner. I am house hunting, should have done this years ago. Keeping up my farm is hard work. I just don't want to do it anymore.

How klutzy are you, on a scale from 1 to 10?
(1 = I’m as graceful as a ballerina. 10 = I would trip over my own feet if they weren’t attached.)

Dancing comes easy to me, including ballroom dance so 1.
just don't ask me to ski or skate or go rollerblading.

Today is Europe Day. Have you ever lived in, or visited, Europe?
i visited Scotland once and would love to go back. I loved the pink granite along the shore and in the caves. I remember sitting in a coffee shop grinning from ear to ear just enchanted and delighted and utterly in love with hearing the Scottish brogue spoken around me.

My mother immigrated to the USA before WWII when she was about 6 years old. It would be nice to visit Danzig where she was born. It was in ruins after the war, and from what i have been told, it was rebuilt exactly as it was before. For some reason that has always fascinated me.

What is something you’d like to tell your younger self?
a. don't marry him.
b. after you married him and then left after 3 years, don't go back.
c. don't have kids

Today’s Questions:

What unpopular opinion [non-political] do you have? Stevie Nicks' and Bruce Springsteen's singing voices are like nails on a blackboard to me. Both are horrible to listen to.

What place did you visit only once, but you’d love to go back? Iceland, in may last year. It was wonderful, and I'd love to go back to explore more.

How klutzy are you, on a scale from 1 to 10?
(1 = I’m as graceful as a ballerina. 10 = I would trip over my own feet if they weren’t attached.) I have very poor balance due to Meniere's Disease in my left ear (for the past 35 years), so I'd say I'm about an 8 or 9 on the klutz scale.

Today is Europe Day. Have you ever lived in, or visited, Europe? Visited several times. Love it.

What is something you’d like to tell your younger self? Open a ROTH IRA sooner.

Thanks for the Sunday questions, Bay!

I don't like multiple piercings and tattoos - would never do that to myself.
I hate parties
I hate large noisy crowds

I don't eat fast food (except maybe Pizza...is Pizza fast food?)
At Halloween I hate candy corn (even when I was a child)
At Easter I hate Peeps (they are cute but taste horrible)
I loathe lima beans (oh but who doesn't?)
Not gonna touch sushi -no raw fish for me!

That's all that I can think of right now.

What place did you visit only once, but you’d love to go back?
Utah/Colorado

How klutzy are you, on a scale from 1 to 10?
(1 = I’m as graceful as a ballerina. 10 = I would trip over my own feet if they weren’t attached.)

10+++++
Today is Europe Day. Have you ever lived in, or visited, Europe?
No
What is something you’d like to tell your younger self?
Be yourself and who you are and don't let other people try to change you or bring you down because you are not what they want or expect...and be kind to everyone, you have no idea what they might be going through. Life is short -smile, live and enjoy.

Thanks for the questions Bay!
