Kayla Montgomery is available and was granted parole. They can swap prison stories while laughing about being lightly punished for killing innocent people.

This case appears to be very clear they caught the right people. I don't care how old they were at the time, why are they still alive? Beyond that, parole show never be an option.

Disgusting. The American justice system is broken. These two tried to kill a father & son before they found this couple. The dad had a gun...so the two "youths" ran off.

Well James Parker is contrite and horrified at crime he committed. That's something anyway..

https://www.wmur.com/article/half-su...anted/60536412

What likely is in play here was that both persons were under age 18 when they committed their crimes.

SCOTUS has over past few decades thrown out serious convictions for those who were convicted of crimes when still minors (under age 18).

On that note James Parker's co-defendant is due to be resentenced because his "life without parole" sentence occurred while he was 17 years of age.

Parker has been living in transitional housing for some time and already has employment apparently. Parker family and friends of this man also have stood by him all these years. On that score at least sounds like Parker will be welcomed home like conquering hero.

States could go way of federal government and eliminating parole (determinate versus indeterminate sentencing). However, many liberals, progressives, democrats and others in various states won't let that happen on their watch.

Then there are those past and present who believe having parole on table gives convicts incentive to better themselves while incarcerated.

Going on theory criminal justice system is meant to dispense just that; justice rather than mete out punishment.

Justice? Where is justice for the Zantops? These two pieces of scum that took the Zantops' lives admitted they went out looking for someone to kill and get money from. Half is dead for the few bills he had in his wallet and his wife for nothing at all. And now the state has provided Parker with an undergrad and master's degrees on the taxpayers' dime, and he gets to walk free. Undoubtedly, the same will happen with Tulloch. Justice is a joke. People of Somersworth beware, this scumbag is coming to your community soon.

Crime was horrific. Kids were nuts to think that was a doable crime and that they were going to get $10,000 to go to Australia.

Kid was 15 and has bettered himself in prison. I would have hoped the state would have sent him on a one way trip to Australia!
