Haha guess so… yes this was a few months ago that I saw at least a few with my own eyes in that Bonita beach neighborhood.. that was before Ian so maybe they were washed away!

I saw a bunch of them last time I was down in Fort Myers -- a few months ago.

Iguanas are an invasive species but unlike Burmese Pythons they are vegetarians and harmless to humans and pets. I have even seen a few in St Pete. I say leave them alone.

They're also destructive, another thing in common.

Nah, we shoot them every chance we get. Can't let them eat all the petunias.

I love iguanas but I don't love paying for all the damage they do to the drainage systems in Florida. Snakes too. Those reptiles breed so fast and there's so many of them living in the drains. I'm sorry but they must be bumped off. If they just wouldn't breed so fast.

One could be considered lucky to only see iguanas on your south FL property.

Suppose for instance you win the Trifecta.

And are visited by iguanas, pythons and alligators.

It probably IS technically possible, is it not?!?

There's this popular youtube channel, where the husband is sitting at the computer and the wife rushes in all excited and says "come quick, there's an alligator in our backyard pool". They wound up calling the state people to remove it.

There's also a cable channel where they catch pythons in Florida, when they aren't catching gators in Louisiana.

And so. Everything's relative. This could get a lot worse.
