If you love Montreal hot dogs, does that make you a Frankophile?

That demands "furter" investigation.

I think I posted this elsewhere, but will post again. It opened recently, I'll be trying it next week with a client from California. Again, we have an amazing food scene here, more Michelin-starred restos and chefs coming here, yet no stars...

Taco place in Chinatown, that is all...

On a sad note though, a brand new Mexican restaurant downtown called Maya, was fire bombed overnight. It had a stunning terrasse and was easily gonna be a hit during F1 weekend and beyond.

These are two places that I missed in Montreal. One is this giant orange dome that is apparently adjacent to the highway that I take all the time when in town. I dont know how I missed it. Another is like a farmers' market. Where is that? Is it open in winter? I think I may just come back again this summer for a quick weekend.

The Marché Jean-Talon is awesome. It is located to the northeast of downtown, at the Jean-Talon métro station on the orange line. My wife just loves that place and always tries to convince me to go when we visit my kid who studies in Montreal. Though it's not in the same part of town for us so a bit of a detour.

It's a mix of producer stalls, fine food shops and kiosks and also restaurants, cafés and bistros that ring the site.

It's quite scaled down in the winter but some of the shops and restaurants and such are still open. The farmer's market section in the middle is empty in the winter, and even in the early spring.

Place Ville Marie gained a brand new outdoor terrasse today, with a brand new resto/cafe opening up on the 45th and 46th floors. I tried the terrasse today, it's fantastic, what a beautiful view (Rose Orange) and of course, it's pretty expensive.

Hiatus will open on August 8th, but I was very lucky to try some samples of what they will offer, the food is very good. Prices will be very high too, but will offer yet another bar/cafe/resto concept and a place to work and host meetings.

Major wins for downtown, this + REM opening will bring more workers back.

Where exactly is this Time Out Market? What is normally in there before this Asia fair/convention?
