I am not sure if I posted this on the right section. I am from France, exchange student for a course here. I am staying in Berkeley CA till December. I wanted to visit Big Sur, Monterrey, Carmel with two other people (my friends) but they changed their plans because their friends are throwing a party in Palo Alto (original plan Sat and Sun 10/27, 10/28 in Big Sur).

I will go alone, because I won't cancel my rental car, I don't have that option. I will stay for a night there.

Please share your thoughts about the places I should go to! Restaurants, etc. I appreciate your help.

PS: I really don't want to walk as much there, I want to relax, I've been studying like a dog here, and been working out literally everyday, I don't want to climb mountains in big sur or what ever, I want a soft trip.

One of the most beautiful places I visited when I first moved here was Pebble Beach. Enter the 17 mile drive in Pacific Grove and have a meal at Roys in Spanish Bay or on the Pebble Beach golf course. At Spanish Bay they play bagpipes every night as the sun sets. Check it out: https://www.pebblebeach.com/insidepe...ach-tradition/

In Monterey Schooners Coastal Kitchen & Bar has great food and an excellent view of the Monterey Bay as well. If you have time and are interested you could visit the aquarium.

Even if you do want to go on any hikes I definitely agree about visiting Big Sur. There are so many awesome pullouts which tourists take to simply enjoy the view. Its one of the most majestic parts of the California coast. Well worth the drive! Just leave enough time to enjoy it.

Thank you. I liked the view of the restaurant in Monterrey. I will go, though I am not a big fan of seafood.

It's kind of hard to make further recommendations when you said more of what you don't want to do: hike. Monterey is known most for its outdoor beauty. Most folks who don't want a lot of exercise still like visiting the area and seeing the sights. You should go to places like Point Lobos, for example. If you want minimum exercise you could drive into the park and then only walk short distances from your car to see things.

Also, go to the aquarium. That is always enjoyable especially if you've never been before. You could go on the water and take a whale watching tour.

You'll have more than enough to see and do simply driving around Monterey, Carmel and Big Sur. Definately plan to take many pictures. One of the most beautiful beaches is Pfeiffer Beach. https://localadventurer.com/pfeiffer...le-sand-beach/
