Rode through Downtown today..It's been awhile. The new Army Corp building is coming on nicely. That area will make the skyline bigger if built properly. The new building is already filling the gap. And hopefully the new 20 story hotel next door will eventually be built.

Convention center is also getting a make over with palm trees and new signage. This will look good next to the Amtrak station.

I'd be more concerned about the zoning, its currently zoned T-5.1 which only allows 3 stories (It in of itself goes against the zoning ordinance, an 8 story tower requires a T-6 which is the zoning required for unlimited height and there's no T-6 zoning anywhere nearby

I’m not a purest all… but it makes the building look weird. I like modern buildings next to historic ones, but I don’t like this design.

I feel like it’s an insult to say you couldn’t see the glass structure on top if you’re on the street. There’s an entire empty block directly in front of that temple where anyone could see that glass addition. For me, I’m not in favor of such a stark contrast. I feel like the better move would be to capitalize on how much influence Egyptian architecture had on art deco architecture and design a structure on the top that was more focused on that Egyptian art deco theme rather than to just take a bunch of glass and put it on top of a concrete temple.
