As much as I would hate to see journalists lose their jobs, if it came to that, the Gateway Pundit is not journalism. 20 years ago this site held promise; now it's just partisan trash.

I will say that one files a 'petition for bankruptcy'. The Bankruptcy Court may deny the petition.

Usually, they will not do so. But if it is felt that the petition is a sham, they will.

i'd be surprised if they allowed it without taking into consideration the potential of awarded damages in the near future.

With Twitter and the Independent news person, it appear it's very difficult for any profit news media to make money.

The need for news organizations telling us how to think is almost non existent.

The GWP was profitable because it published election conspiracies and misinformation on the vaccine, right used it quite a few times because it reinforced their opinions, came reason Fox is so profitable.

From the first link 'The Gateway Pundit said in its bankruptcy filing that it had between $500,000 and $1m in assets and between $100,001 and $500,000 in liabilities. A list of its 20 largest creditors contained mostly anonymous individuals. .... that doesn't sound like they need the protection yet. Deny them until/if they get upside down.

They raised a lot of money on election fraud and other conspiracies, their circulation was a few million a month back in 2020. There is big bucks in conspiracies, Alex Jones proved that. I always wonder about the person that uses these sources for information, type in Gateway Pundit in the search tool and you will see how frequently it is used as a source in this forum.
