Man there is a lot of bad advice in this thread. Get a new local phone number? That's like telling to get a rotary phone.
If a company is screening people over area codes, I wouldn't want to work there. They'd want locals only. Just cause you move there...you still wouldn't fit in.
They might want a local candidate but again, I wouldn't want to work for a company that only wants local people.
I've had several interviews when I didn't live locally. I received three job offers when I lived 100+ miles away. I received a job offer when I was living in CA and looking to move to TX.
If you aren't getting interest...the issue is your resume not your contact info.
