So, in a case like this do you rebalance now-ish and again later-ish?

no , everything is still pretty much in range .

until equities reaches about 57% of the total invested dollars they are fine .they are around 53%. i may even let run to 60% before i sell off some growth and income model.

all models are doing fine …the bond funds are spinning off 5-6k a month which we have just been reinvesting so the higher rates now are nice

it’s really lack of attention for the most part .

just years of ignoring the noise and simply following the insight newsletter, really a no brainer .

following what we think is going to happen is a recipe for crappy returns or lack of even being invested .

what i do spend time on is the overall retirement plan as well as how to utilize the different portfolios and funds i own so my investments are laddered by time .

of course i still like fun trading non core positions or experimenting with modern day risk parity portfolios but over all the core portfolios get very little attention .

actually 30 seconds a week reading the weekly update in the newsletter.

the insight portfolios do not get rebalanced . they just have occasional fund swaps when a fund no longer meets the objectives .

any rebalancing by me is based on a total allocation to equities i prefer to stay under or end of year to raise cash to fill the short fall in the spending budget for the new year so that is my own doing , not because the insight models use rebalancing.

which is why i call bull on those who try to use the excuse they are to busy to invest their money so they stick to cash instruments.

until she died my aunt in her 80’s used the insight models knowing nothing about investing nor caring to devote time to it

Yeah, I previously told you my manager had dollar cost averaged into the C Fund (S&P 500) for 3-4 decades and has millions.
