I used to make my own bread. Got tired of crooked slices, and bought a slicing guide. It determined the thickness of the slice, kept the knife at a 90° angle from the board, and the slices parallel.

That's a really snarked up remark. People with disabilities use tools like this. People without disabilities use tools like this. My wife bakes bread and she uses a bread slicing 'box'. We've had it for over 30 years.

Look up essential tremor. There are days I won't go near a knife. And, yes, I mostly buy pre-sliced bread.
