I only decorate for Valentine’s Day when I buy a new plumbing fixture.

While technically this decorating attempt was post Valentine's Day not pre, I recall gluing a heart-shaped, flamboyantly decorated Valentine's Day candy box lid to my bedroom wall as a kid once. And only once. I also recall how less than enthused my parents were when they discovered it.

The only decorating I do for Valentine's Day includes removing the red and green Fiesta from the dining room table and replacing it with pink Fiesta. I also have an 18" white Christmas tree that I keep up all year round, switching the decorations with the season. Next up: red hearts.

A niche holiday like ... Valentine's Day?

For every conceivable holiday they decorated, for Valentine's Day (starting in mid-January) rowhouse windows would be cluttered with the dollar store's "finest" decorations including red foil hearts, red glitter, red confetti, Cupid cutouts, plastic red roses...you name it.
LOL, I'm in Norristown and most people around here, and in Roxborough where I work, keep their exterior Christmas decorations up well into February.

Does your HOA police the inside of your homes, too?

there has been a noticeable increase in homes decorated for VD over the last few years. Some people are going all out with lights and red trees.
