From what I read, the early ones are scouts, and some of them will continue on north. It seems like the activity levels go up and down somewhat throughout the season. We've had one male around, but I have no idea if it's the same one. We had a female for a couple days, but haven't seen her lately.
I went back on here & looked at the 2023 H'bird thread. It seemed we were starting to get regular visits from them at the end of June so I guess it took awhile last year too.
But, I did see a firefly the other evening!!! Only one but it sure was nice to see. I would love to see a lot of those as well!
