I believe they will make the bridge wide enough for 4 lanes.

But the priority to widen W. Georgia Rd, according to GPATS Horizon2040 is very low. Actually at the bottom of the list. Starting at #128, Hwy 25 to Fork Shoals, then #136 E. Standing Springs to Neely Ferry Rd; #137 Fork Shoals to E. Standing Springs; #138 Fork Shoals to Rocky Creek.

What useful purpose do those lights even serve? I agree that it is annoying to see something that tax money was spent on go unused but I don't think those lights have a real use. My issue would go back to the funds wasted on initially installing them. They are largely a waste of electricity and source of light pollution with much of a useful purpose.

I-85 from MM 40 to Woodruff Rd is scheduled to be widened to 8 lanes. It's in the design phase right now.

wow, that's good to know - estimated start date? (I know that the Laurens Road/I85 interchange is expected to begin construction/re-configuration in 2024)

This should be easy. The medians and shoulders are wide enough to reconfigure the lanes from six lanes to eight lanes.

FWIW, you can go to this link and see a map of the SCDOT projects across the state.

https://scdot.maps.arcgis.com/apps/M...465e16765d761c

zoom into the county and roads are highlighted, color coded, as to the project, select the road an a popup gives more info.

Highway 101 at Milford Church Road will get an all-way stop sign beginning November 7. Don't know if this is the permanent solution or the precursor to a traffic light.

The permanent solution to North Highway 101 and Milford Church Road would involve realigning Milford Churh Road north of the present intersection, adding a left turn lane from North Highway 101 northbound, and adding a traffic signal.

Why bother with an all way stop when North Highway 101 has three signalized intersections north of Locust Hill Road (South Carolina Highway 290)? Two of those intersections are bookends (North Rutherford Road, North McElhaney Road).

There is now a traffic signal at N Highway 101 and Milford Church Road.
