I looked at mine and it was still nonsensical. The majority of my ancestry is misassigned to neighboring regions. Per this test I would be like 65% Scandinavian, Italian, and Greek, while I have only minimal ancestry from the first (think a possible 18th century ancestor from Sweden) and none from the Med. Sea. Same with my mom. My grandmother (one set of grandparents born in Scotland, the from mid-19th century Southern German immigrant stock) is more or less correct now.

Th rest is based in the objective records (immigration/border crosses census etc) many conflicting data points...
and of course that we (1st cousin match) DO NOT match on the maternal side
You can still match her on her maternal side as she said. If she is your full 1st cousin (about 12% shared DNA) her mother could be your father's sister. With maternal haplogroups not matching, it means her mother can't be your mother's sister. But any other combination is possible.

With 12% shared DNA, other possibilities are that she could be your half aunt or half niece, depending on your dates of birth, etc. If she's a younger generation than you, she could be the child of a half sibling of yours.

It should be obvious if you have Relatives in common you've already identified, which side of yours, and which side of hers, you're related on.

Almost nothing in this tree is obvious.
No easy access to Spanish documents is compounded by the Cuban Rev disruptions.
Then you get to the 'family secret' level.
