Sun exposed parts of my garden just hit 63F this afternoon (2-3 inch depth) even though the air temperature only reached 60F which was the warmest day of the week. It's quite sandy so it warms up fast if it's sunny and even just the slightest bit warm. Much of the previous week the soil was more like 40-50F.
We've barely hit soil temp of 50 at my house, but it sleeted / snowed a bit Sunday night and was supposed to have gotten down to 22 last night. Will try and put down some fertilizer + crabgrass preventer as it's forecasted to warm back up the next several days plus rain.
Four inches of 40f mud on top of still frozen ground,,Droped to 18f this morning in the Pittsburg NH hills but climbed nicely to 58f .Im told Spring is on the way.

We had been in the 60sF for several days so I took the soil temperature Saturday morning. It was 54.3 so I went ahead and planted the tomatoes, Cucumbers, and Zucchini. I'll keep the pepper plants inside for another couple of weeks.
Good idea. We're having a warm spell here the next couple days, then it dips a little cooler over the weekend but then come next week returning to more moderate temperatures..
It's just a matter of time until we head into the normal continued warm temps.
