Hi everyone,

I'm interested in a house in the Woodhaven Country Club area of Fort Worth. The views of the golf course are great, and I love the home. I'm very concerned about the neighborhood though. The area South around Boca Raton Blvd. doesn't seem safe. There are also apartments nearby (Oakland Hills Apartments I think) that do not look very nice either.

Does anyone know about this neighborhood? Namely:

1. Is it safe?
2. Is it a decent area to buy a home and have it increase in value?

Any thoughts you can provide are appreciated. This is a big investment, and I don't want to make a mistake because I am not familiar with a neighborhood.

Thanks,

James

Default Neighborhood

Find out if the neighborhood is safe. Ask the police department for neighborhood crime statistics. Consider not only the number of crimes but also the type — such as burglaries or armed robberies — and the trend of increasing or decreasing crime. Also, is crime centered in only one part of the neighborhood, such as near a retail area? Here are a few links you can refer to:

The houses and CC are nice. The apartments are BAD. Crime occasionally spills over into the neighborhoods near the apartments.

Default Did you ever move to that area, if so, how has it been?

Check out the interactive crime maps: https://www.arcgis.com/apps/dashboar...da6735ff619568
You can literally zoom in on the Woodhaven neighborhood and see where all of the reported crimes took place, and what they were.

I would still not recommend living in an apartment in Woodhaven.
