It looks like the Cape Coral taxpayers have to give the city council a $40,000 raise and the mayor a $60,000 raise in pay.

That is one huge raise in pay. Of course expenses are going up for everyone with inflation , food, gas, taxes , homeowners insurance ,and vehicle insurance. Are we all getting a $40,000 raise?

Yet the city keeps raising taxes .Cape Coral has the money to give themselves a raise . Where is our tax cut? There are many new businesses and homes that add to the tax base.

There is another building boom going on and the city is raking in more taxes from these new properties. We are getting the shaft.

Plus the board got rid of all of the oversite citizen committees ! So now the mayor and board have free rein on every aspect of government and the city.
