Isn't there a little bit of land between Springdale and Rogers?

It's called Lowell, with Bethel Heights tossed in for good measure.

Maybe this ginormous city can stretch up to Neosho, MO. This city will be as big as Delaware.

The city would have around 500,000 people and would wield much more weight than the 4 cities do now.

While yes it would wield a lot more clout as a single entity, your population figure is way off. Per the US Census website the following is the 2007 population estimates:

Fayetteville: 72,208
Springdale: 66,881
Rogers: 54,959
Bentonville: 33,744

Grand total: 227,792

The 2006 estimate for the MSA was 420,876. Your rough 500,000 number would be a rounding of the 2007 estimate for the entire MSA.

Splitting hairs a bit I guess but the details are important. The value, in my mind, isn't so much the population figure (it's an advantage certainly but not the root) but the ability to consolidate efforts at courting major employers as a single entity and not 4.

sorry yeah my population was a little over the top, but nevertheless alot of people would be in that one city and it would just make alot of thing easier in my opinion. Its just weird the way NWA is set up now

One day LR and NLR may merge, or perhaps all of Pulaski Co.

But you will NEVER see Fayetteville and Springdale merge, let alone the four main NWA cities.

That's a shame because rivalry between the cities causes major headaches for the residents.

There are other cities and towns seperating Bentonville/Rogers and Springdale/Fayetteville that would make this impossible, not to mention the fact that they are in different counties.

Many cities stretch between several different counties. I think a Fayetteville-Springdale Merger seems to most likely and the easiest to do. this would give them a population of about 150,000. I suggest cutting out the name Springdale altogether and just making it all Fayetteville.

look at it this way, maybe 2 merging would help, but the more merging that is done, the more these cities lose their individuality..Springdale is Tysons with many Tyson factory employees living there, this makes the city a little different from other cities in NWA: Fayetteville is a college town and should stay that way, it is liberal, trendy, funcky (a little) and very diversified: that is good: Bentonville is the suburia from word go...The only advantage of a merger in anyway, would be the clout the cities would have(or the city) in Little Rock...
