Sorry if it might be not the right section to post this thread but I mentionned some posts about Dan Schneider who's a former producer at Nickelodeon. And the release of a documentary titled "Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV" and Dan Schneider responded to these accusations. Let's see if Dan Schneider will end like Harvey Weinstein. There's an article published a couple of days ago about that.

Quote:
Ex-Nickelodeon producer Dan Schneider is speaking out after accusations of inappropriate and abusive behavior were made against him in the new docuseries "Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV."

Schneider, who was behind popular children's shows such as "The Amanda Show," "Victorious" and "Drake and Josh," responded to some of the allegations in an interview on his YouTube page with "iCarly" actor BooG!e. He said it was "very difficult" to watch all four episodes of the Investigation Discovery special, which aired Sunday and Monday night.

"Facing my past behaviors, some of which are embarrassing and that I regret," he said. "I definitely owe some people a pretty strong apology."
And there's a dozen of vlogs about that case and here one recent one.

I'm no expert on this.. But, from what I've read.. While the guy certainly sounds fairly creepy and has made and done some rather inappropriate things.. I haven't really seen anything that points to criminal behavior.

Feel free to add info, because.. It's certainly possible there are things i'm not aware of.. And, of course, I can't speak to what may come out in the future.. As they say.. Where there's smoke...

But.. Outside of perhaps having a foot fetish. Writing some inappropriate for the age range jokes.. I don't see any evidence that he knowingly hired some of the people, like Brian Peck.

Now. as far as him working around kids in the industry again? Well.. One would think that wouldn't happen. He hasn't since separating from Nick a few years back, to my knowledge. But.. It's Hollywood.. You never know.

I thought the stuff in that documentary was kinda weak in terms of the substance behind the scandalizing language. Who knew that the creator/producer types in the industry are often slightly unhinged, eccentric egomaniacs with boundary issues..I mean except everyone. Didn't people watch Entourage?

And now Dan Schneider wants to sue the producers of "Quiet on Set" for diffamation.
https://www.nbcnews.com/pop-culture/...uit-rcna150296

Quote:
Former Nickelodeon producer Dan Schneider is suing the people and companies behind “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV,” claiming the explosive docuseries defamed him by falsely implying he sexually abused the children he worked with.

The four-part Investigation Discovery docuseries, which aired in March and had a bonus episode drop in April, featured interviews with several crew members and former child stars who alleged abuse, inappropriate behavior and a toxic work environment while they appeared on some hit Nickelodeon shows Schneider produced.

Schneider, who was behind hits like “The Amanda Show” and “Drake and Josh,” parted ways with Nickelodeon in 2018. He does not appear in the docuseries, but he responded to several of the allegations with written statements that aired throughout it.
There's one vlog who talk a bit more about it.

Over the years, former Nickelodeon stars spoke out against the alleged abuse they faced from Schneider and other Nickelodeon bosses. Jennette McCurdy alleged in her 2022 memoir that the network offered her a paycheck to keep quiet about unsettling experiences from when she starred in “iCarly.” “Zoey 101” actor Alexa Nikolas led a 2022 protest outside Nickelodeon’s Burbank studio, alleging that she and her fellow actors “were not safe.”

In “Quiet on Set,” actor Drake Bell detailed the alleged sexual abuse that he experienced from dialogue coach Brian Peck, who worked on Schneider-created shows including “All That” and “The Amanda Show.” Peck was convicted in 2004 of child sex abuse.

In Tuesday’s video
(a video response published later), Schneider denied claims that he hired Peck and teared up as he recalled helping Bell’s mother pen her speech for her testimony against him.

“That was probably the darkest part of my career,” he said.

In the aftermarth of "Quiet on set", All That alumni Lori Beth Denberg alleged more on the table about Dan Schneider.
https://variety.com/2024/tv/news/lor...at-1236002343/

Quote:
“All That” cast member Lori Beth Denberg has accused Dan Schneider of showing her porn, initiating phone sex and more when she was just a teenager. Denberg starred on “All That” for four seasons between 1994 and 1998. Schneider was a head writer on the series. Denberg gave an interview to Business Insider in which she detailed the alleged situations Schneider put her in.

According to Denberg, it was around her 19th birthday in 1995 when Schneider asked for a meeting with her and allegedly showed her clips of pornography on his computer. She said the “grand finale” of the clips was one that depicted a woman performing oral sex on a donkey.

“I feel like that is the first time he preyed on me,” Denberg told Business Insider.

This is not the first time Schneider has been accused of showing pornography to someone he worked with on Nickelodeon. During an episode of Investigation Discovery’s docuseries “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV,” Jenny Kilgen, a writer on “The Amanda Show,” also claimed that Schneider showed writers porn on his computer during work in order to see “how far can I push this person.”

Sounds like a bunch of hearsay. He said, she said. Some of it may be true. Some of it....
