So- with college students (and interlopers using them as shields) deciding to protest and vandalize from one side of the country to the other, what is the political fall out? Does this become an issue like backlash to Defund the Police and 2020 riots that likely cost Dems atleast a half dozen Congressional seats and a point or two overall?
Or do people just come to expect this at universities?
I will say there is a major ongoing rift between how a lot of pro-Palestinian protesters and mere supporters see their cause and how others see it. And the same is true of tactics. I think a lot are subscribing to the any attention is good attention train of thought. And they are not noticing that more people are tuning them out than being open to their arguments.
Also- the next time lower tuition becomes a big topic look for a lot of folks to ask how much is being spent to repair vandalized buildings. And for a retune of the mask debates- a vaccine and 2-3 boosters in does anyone really buy that the masks are being worn for personal health reasons...
