This was a Times piece by Frank Bruni which mentioned a bit of what I said for a long time: That you have to keep in mind who a president hires. Top people flocked to Biden. With Trump, although sometimes he started with respected people, they often left or were fired. Even if Trump is "peppier" (fun choice of word).

Overlooked truth about Biden’s age: ‘Team matters much more’
Even so, aspects of the subject get too little consideration, starting with this crushingly obvious and yet frequently overlooked fact: The presidency isn’t a solo mission. Not even close. It’s a team effort and the administration that a president puts together matters much, much more than his brawn or his brio.

Whether it's Biden or the team pulling his strings, the last 4 years have been horrific for working Americans.

So, people are correct when they say Biden isn't running the show. Got it.

Record employment, lowest unemployment rates in many decades, higher wages, highest ever stock market. None of that is horrific.

Biden doesn't plague us with daily idiotic rants on Twitter. That already has him immensely smarter, saner, and younger in spirit than that miserable hate-saturated wretch we had previously.

As a Dem, his "team" is one of my biggest disappointments with him. I never thought he would veer as far left as he has, and I think the team around him has a lot to do with that.

But the average American isn't feeling that, and perception is everything. Last night one of the News Nation shows had a graph showing the price of staples like eggs, flour, milk, etc in 2019 vs now, and every single product was up by at least 40%. Auto insurance is 25% higher for me, and many others. THAT is what average Americans feel. Wages have not risen enough to make up for that or even make a dent in it.

I'm not saying it's Biden's fault, but when he gets up there boasting about how great the economy is, it shows a definite tone deafness about how many average Americans' economic livelihoods have actually declined.

The buck stops with the president. Putting that in the hands of the president's 'team' instead is just diversionary nonsense. What's next?... holding the president's dog accountable? That's just how dumb this all gets...
