I am so excited about this new tower. I have been following the sky scraper website to see when projects are set to begin and weather they get approved or not. There is one that I have been watching that is supposed to be 71 stories / 278 meters high (the second tallest in Canada and tallest in western Canada). I can hardly wait for development approval and commencement.
Thanks for posting the impressive photo and for the opportunity to brag.
I suspect there are many Canadians who expect Edmonton to be a dirty little prairie town run by hicks. We are not small.
The Edmonton census metropolitan area (CMA) has a population estimated at 1.8 million, of which 70% live in the city proper.
We usually compare ourselves to Calgary because of course our hockey and football teams are rivals. Metro pop is nearly 1.37 as of this year. Also Calgarians do complain that because Edmonton is the capital we get more funding from the provincial government than they do.
