Hello,

Have you renewed your passport recently (2023)? How long did it take to receive your new one? TIA

Renewed my 15 yo's passport in November (and obviously had to do it in person since she's under 16). Took only about 5-6 weeks. I always pay the additional fee for expedited, regardless of whether or not we have a trip planned.

My husband is currently in the process of renewing and is doing it online. You fill out the form online and upload your own picture. You do not have to send your existing passport in. You get payment confirmation at time of submission, and after a few days, the application status shows as "application received" so you know they're working on it.

Recent data points say expect three or so months for normal renewal. I think the usual pre-summer international travel planning sand renewal rush has begun and then you need to add in the folks who didn’t renew in 2020/21/22 and who are trying to catch up in order to do a trip this summer.
