Has the humidity been extremely high lately or is it just me?

Bridgeport has 15.27 inches for Spring with 16 days left. With todays rain they now entered Top 10 wettest Springs on record!!

Another 1/4" and it will be since the 1970s/80s since we had this much rain!

For the month of May, normal to date (to the 15th) is 1.71" and they have over 2 inches with half the month left. Above normal rainfall continues

With next week looking dry...there is only 10 days left after that, even if NWS Bridgeport had 1 inch of rain in the last week of the month (total 3.04 inches for the month)...they would still be tied for the 12th driest May in 30 years

Not even close to some of the wettest Mays even in the last 30 years. As recent as 2017 May had 5.49 inches of rain in May. 1998 had 7.88 inches of rain in May.

Last week there was some near 60 F dew points as I remember.

Looking ahead, I see no real above normal dew points coming. According to the forecast, by this weekend strong high pressure will build in across the East Coast and dew points will modest, with sunshine, temps in the 70's F...and dry weather.

Looking at the days I maxed in the 60s and when I had at least 75% sunshine. There are NONE in May.

Only 5 days in March, 5 days in April.

Getting 60s with sun will be fading away now with summer approaching. It's hard or rare to get 60s with sun in June and Summer.

I can't believe how hard its been! Really. It's either 50s or 70s. What the heck

Even in the extended forecast...as we start to see building heat by the middle of next week, there really looks to be no crazy high dew points (over 65 F). We will see a bit more sultry air mass by Wed as dew point temps climb toward the low 60's F, but that is fairly normal for mid-May.

The wettest spring was in 1983. The 10th wettest is now 2024. 15 days left.

The driest was 1986. Imagine that... Wettest in 1983 and 3 yrs later the driest. Back when the climate wasn't changing.

Seems like we're continuing the trend of nice weather to begin the week and crappy weather to end it. I'm seeing clouds today, tomorrow and Sunday. Of course. But of course.

And my prediction - because the weather is out to get us here in the northeast. Most of the Mondays have been nice and sunny but just watch, Memorial Day is going to be terrible. I'll predict clouds and rain. It'll be the first Monday that isn't nice in a while and will happen to be on Memorial Day.

Just watch everyone. Just watch
