There's zero change, but that doesn't mean the bus service isn't working!

It does. There are some CTfastrak buses that serve Silver Lane in East Hartford out to Manchester Community College. I think he wants to do even more which they have been studying even before they knew ridership on the main line was good. Jay

Malloy was talking about adding stations and parking lots along this expanded route.

I really think we need a bigger train system. Trains from Springfield to Hartford to Waterbury to Middletown to New London line. A train from Waterbury to Danbury to NYC line. A train from Waterbury to Bridgeport to NYC line.

Question on Fast Track driving over one of the stations for the busses noticed was on it's own road separated from traffic. Do these busses have their own roads they can use?

I work in Bridgeport come from Waterbury there is no bus line or train service that is direct to Bridgeport that can travel in an hour hour 1/2. Better to drive.

Yes the buses have their own road from New Britain to Hartford. The portion east of Hartford which was just talked about by Malloy uses the HOV lanes on the highway.

Looks like Governor Malloy's transportation funding panel is looking at all ways to make the improvements needed. Interesting, what do you all think? Should we turn some of our roads over to private companies to rebuild and run? Jay

Absolutely not behind this idea. Privatizing Govt functions and selling Govt assets is not a good idea. I'd rather see tolls collected by the state. Don't want to have anything to do with Wall St. investors.

This is also the perfect time to get tolls implemented on interstate highways because the Republicans control the Federal Senate and House. Those guys love to monetize stuff.

Agreed. This makes little sense. Providing and maintaining infrastructure is one of the core missions of government and should not be outsourced. Why wouldn't they just bond out these projects? Is the state's credit rating so bad that its not an option?
