I've always thought Columbus could be a great location for an outlet mall for all the people traveling down to FL and the travelers going East/West through Columbus. Phenix City would also be a great location for one.

I remember hearing something about this, but I can't confirm it. If they do come, I'd imagine all 3 would be in the same structure, maybe 1 unit - but can't see them being in 3 different locations

I'm in the same boat with you - if I'd won that $590 million lottery - I'd have brought in a Polo outlet and watched my money double over the next 20 years - yes with the help of interest, but a Polo outlet would make money hand-over-fist

I posted about this a little while back, they've already started construction. They moved Campus Spirit to the old Avenue location and Gap Outlet is going in old Sneakers, Plato's Closet, Campus Spirit locations. If they're like the one at Lenox Square mall, they're all inter-connected, like the Carters and Osh Kosh store that's currently at Columbus Park.

Does anyone know what's being built at the corner of Veterans and Whittlesey. They tore down a doctor's office. I also was wondering if anyone has heard that CSU was purchasing the Ledger building downtown for their nursing program.

The city had to purchase their parking lot and some of the building for the Whittlesey widening. I'm not sure exactly what they're doing with the land. If I had to guess I would say they're building a smaller complex for the eye doctor that was in that building.

Regarding the Ledger building, I haven't heard that, but its not really on the Uptown campus, a good 2 blocks away but they're running out of land on main campus, so uptown near the hospital would make sense, making room for a general class building on campus to help with growing attendance at CSU.

They created a new multi use field on the west end of campus, my thoughts are that they're making room for more buildings near the main part of campus. Lots to look forward to for CSU!

I heard about CSU Science department possibly moving in the ledger building. But not about the nursing department. However, either department will be a good move for downtown.

The corner of whittlesey and veterans is going to be a USAA branch. Auto insurance and banking I believe.

The ledger building is supposed to be the nursing school for CSU
