I-70 has been nasty all afternoon and all evening, am watching Fox31,Shaul Turner has reported that the highway has been closed on both sides of the tunnel at times with multiple wrecks.

Tomorrow? Freeze warning-all of the western slope, high wind warning in the San Luis Valley also also most of Eastern Colorado. Snow advisory from Craig to Steamboat Springs to Walden to Cameron Pass.

April showers bring May flowers? YIKES!! And this weather pattern is going to be with us for a couple days!

And the cold front is still hanging around the central and southern mountains. Fox31 just showed the highway around Salida, Snow is just flat coming down!! Sheesh! Mesa County won't see 80 degrees until next early week. kind of unusual, but I won't complain, it will get plenty hot soon enough by the end of the month.

Let's see where we are now at the end of the season. Snowpack levels as of 01 June have changed a bit since last reported on 20 April 2024. This will be my final update for the season and in a week or two this will no longer be a sticky thread.

Regions:
Yampa and White: 105% (down 5%)
Upper Colorado Head Waters: 102% (down 3%)
Gunnison: 101% (down 2%)
San Miguel, Dolores, Animas and San Juan: 84% (down 6%)
Laramie and North Platte: 100% (n/c)
South Platte: 99% (down 1%)
Arkansas: 105% (down 5%)
Upper Rio Grande: 90% (down 4%)

The old mapping system has aged out and a new mapping system is now being used.
