Yeah, I'm sure that the Troy coach is going to get a lot of flak about that kick, even though it did take a miracle for them to lose.
Yeah, if they had been up 6.. I'd just call this bad luck. Because the strategy.. Is better at that point. But they were up 4. Then the squib which gave Appy State the ball at about their own 45 as I recall. I mean, that's.. 20 yards to get into FG range.
They still would have lost if they had been up 6, but at that point you can just say "Hey, it was good strategy that just didn't work out.. We got beat on a hail mary".. They just gave themselves so many ways to lose this game.
Chase Brice is a dang good little QB tho. He's not going anywhere past this I doubt. I don't really see him in the NFL at all, but.. Obviously, he doesn't really have that great an arm because he couldn't even get it to the end zone, but.. It all worked out.
After the first 4 games of 2022, ODU's linebacker Jason Henderson was the leading tackler in Division I football.
Another point of pride for this year's Sun Belt.

JMU, ODU.. Schools from my time in the Commonwealth. Even GMU (Mason) made the tourney a few years back.. That was right across the street from my high school.
Anyway.. They need to rename that conference. I don't know to what, but Sunbelt just doesn't fit anymore.
That’s a cool story.
We have entertained guest friends from England here in the Austin area and took them to U. Of Texas football games. They have all enjoyed it immensely. Here is our lady friend (left) from Staffordshire with my wife in the UT stadium several years ago…..

To me the fans in the stands should be a friendly rivalry because they’re all there to enjoy the same game. Some fans take it too seriously as if they ARE the team or the team is their life and that leads to some of the violence we see in the stands. Even the tailgating cooking is a shared experience with a bit of friendly rivalry.
I agree.
True, but there are always a few drunks who spoil the experience for some of the visitors.
I have never personally witnessed any bad behavior between fans, but plenty of catcalling & the like.
My extended family (most are Longhorn fans) has a number of grads from opposing schools - Texas A&M, Texas Tech, TCU, Oklahoma, LSU, and Missouri. We all get along.
Troy has won a number of close games this year. It does seem like their season. Congrats to the Trojans!
