Using my new Olympus E-520 Digital SLR for the first time at Kure Beach, I attached my 40-150mm zoom lens & snapped this picture from the gazebo across the rocks toward a family just in the waters edge.

The sea oats are at their peak, and the beach weather is as nice as it is going to get for a while. Taken on Emerald Isle, July 15, 2009 at Third Street Beach.
We stopped by the beach on Emerald Isle late this afternoon. The water was pretty stirred up, and it appears there were some waves that went high up on the beach. Our favorite shelling beach which often has a little shelf now is a nice smooth slope with no shells. There was a lot of foam in the water, but other than those cosmetic things, I think Bill did not cause much trouble for the Crystal Coast. The one thing we know for sure is the beach will also be different the next time we visit.
To all of you who take the time and effort to post these pictures, i thank you! They are beautiful and are appreciated by many. THANKS!!!
DITTO!
They are beautiful!
But I have to ask a bone-head question.....how do I see the pictures behind the tiny red "x's"
We will be in Sunset Beach in 9 days, can't wait!
Thank you again for the lovely pictures!
