I just ran across this from a while back and thought it might interest some of you.

The 8 Best Hot Dogs in Chicago
Hot dogs are practically everywhere in this city. These are a local expert’s favorites, thanks to no-nonsense charm and a climbable mountain of toppings.

The thing is, we Chicagoans don’t really think about our hot dogs too much. We don’t have to. They’re just there when we need one.

I've been to most of these locations, but not all. Based on my experiences, the list is trustworthy.

I'd probably substitute Weiner's Circle for Flub A Dub Chub's, but that is just me. The other picks aren't bad, though.

Best Polish Sausage I've ever had: https://www.heinkelspacking.com/sausage

I used to eat them at a hot dog shop on campus in Urbana. Order some and cook them yourself, you will be amazed.

Jay (the owner) kept some hot on the steam table and then grilled them to perfection. I had mine with mustard, onion and sauerkraut.

I think Byron's is overrated. They are fine, but not special. And they cost more than most.

We lived by Budacki's for a several years and much preferred theirs to Byron's for 2/3 the price.

Oh man. I miss Wonderdog's. I used to go there every other day for lunch when I lived in Urbana (for 13 years). Jay knew me well as one of his regulars.

I think you're right on, with this comment. Budacki's is kinda a hidden gem, and I've definitely had some Byron's visits where I felt let down.

I'd heard that Budaki's is owned by the same people who own Crisp, and you can get the same delicious Korean fried chicken there. Is that true? (That stuff is the bomb)
