As for walking around - I'd go up to Wicker Park (not far) - the Park itself, or along Milwaukee Ave or Division Street - east of Damen, west of Ashland...and the little enclave between (like a triangle). UK Village isn't super walkable IMO. I mean you can, but it's not super interesting - just medium residences. Augusta Blvd is not a great street to walk on. That stretch of Milwaukee will feel like a cool, funky NYC neighborhood.

Yuzu is a Japanese/sushi place - plenty of seafood stuff there. I've never been to Tryzub - no opinion on it. Nettare is very upscale and beautiful if you want a real nice place to eat (pretty expensive, but not crazy). Check their menu online.

Kasama pastries....you'll need to order online and go pick them up. You can skip the line and walk in and grab your order. But even then, you'll need to order 30-60 minutes before they'll be ready. And they don't open until 9am, and you can't order before 9am. So the soonest you'll get your pastries is probably 930-10am. I will say the pastries are insanely good.

BTW, there are also several restaurants on Division, near and east of Damen - all the Italian places are very good - Tortello is GREAT - homemade pasta. Definitely can go meatless there.

The streets going N/S between Chicago and Division are generally pleasant - Wood/Wolcott/Leavitt.

I'll also say the further east you go the safer the area is, generally (not that it's a particularly dangerous neighborhood).

We do most of our walking, etc. between Damen and Ashland, north of Chicago Ave, south of North Ave.

For an additional idea - if you are looking for a walk - try the 606. It's a bit further north, but it's an elevated walking path about 3 miles long. Very nice, tons of people walking and jogging.

Thanks - appreciate your local perspective. Helps a ton.
