Weds & Thurs Chicago Nitelife (Lincoln: house, neighborhood, college)

Good day, will be visiting the Chicago metro area in a few weeks, but will be on a Weds and Thurs, are there any thriving nitelife areas on these days? Which areas are popping on Weds and Thurs? Any bars or dance clubs in particular that are popular on these evenings?

Nothing significant, frankly, unless you can find a show with a specific headliner people are turning out for. Otherwise, people only come out in large numbers on Fridays and Saturdays. Many River North clubs are only open on Fridays and Saturdays. Neighborhood bars and clubs outside of downtown are your best bet—in locations like Wicker Park, Logan Square, Boystown, etc. Boystown probably has the most consistent stream of people out there in general, but obviously it’s an LGBTQ-oriented scene.

It's been a long time since I've been in that "scene" but I remember certain bars always had their certain days. The one I remember specifically is Durkin's has singles night on Thursdays. If you're single and want to be part of that scene, check it out.

Of course Thursday will always be busier than a Wednesday, especially in college areas. The area around Lincoln Park (Lincoln Ave Bars) will be pretty packed with college students during "Thirsty Thursday". Wednesday might be harder to find a truly lively scene but River North is always bumping with Tourists.

Dance clubs and clubs playing house and electronic music, which I assume is what the OP is referring to, do not attract throngs of tourists at all.

He asked about thriving nightlife, including bars and clubs. I assume the OP didn't mean just electronic music/dance scenes. Sounds like they just want to find somewhere that will be busy.

Dorian's in Wicker Park is a jazz bar that has live music every night. It's not a "mellow" jazz bar, more of a lively place to go.

Duffy's has Music Bingo on Thursdays. Not sure how packed it gets, but it sounds like fun!
